The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
The Salvation Army’s services encompass a wide range of programs to help individuals and families overcome daunting obstacles. They strive to empower people and to enable those in need to change their circumstances and overcome the challenges that stand in their way.
Their services include: food shelf, weekday lunch program, emergency services, HeatShare, youth programs, women’s ministry program, men’s ministry program, young adult ministry program, music instruction, emergency shelter, & disaster services.
Today, through over 9,600 service centers, The Army’s services affect the lives of millions of persons in more than one hundred nations around the world. In the United States, The Salvation Army serves almost 6 million people during the holiday season alone.
