SUMMER INTERNSHIP POSITION

Crafts Direct is currently accepting resumes for a summer graphic design internship position. The following is a description of this paid internship position: 

Qualifications:
Must be a college student working toward a major/minor in Graphic Design (or a recent graduate)
Must have complete understanding of graphic design programs, including
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver.
**Emphasis in: Web, Flash, & video preferred**

Responsibilities:
Assist with graphic design needs for various projects
Update content on website
Create videos for web
In-store video production

Desired Skills:
Strong sense of creativity and knowledge of graphic design programs
Ability to establish priorities and work independently on a variety of projects
Strong organizational and planning skills, including ability to meet deadlines
Attention to accuracy and detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Desire to expand knowledge and gain experience while having fun in the process

Time Commitment:
Position starts ASAP and concludes August 31st , 2008

Team members must be able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers, deliver excellent customer service, perform moderate lifting, stock and fill shelves, climb ladders, and walk/stand for extended periods.  General knowledge of craft products and their uses, basic math skills, and computer skills desired.  Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a retail environment.   

 

TEAM LEADER -  Closeout Store at Crafts Direct

We are looking for a Team Leader to assist in the day-to-day operation of this unique “second store” at Crafts Direct.  The Closeout Store carries closeout merchandise from all the departments in the main store plus dollar merchandise.  The selection is always changing!

Qualifications desired: 

Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Reliable, responsible and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Previous experience in the retail industry
Previous supervisory experience
Strong leadership skills with ability to train, coach and motivate
Excellent math and computer skills
An understanding of merchandising principles
Sound decision-making abilities
Ability to work varied hours including days, evenings and weekends
Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds frequently
Ability to stand/walk for long periods

Responsibilities include:

Providing exceptional customer service
Responding to customer inquiries and complaints
Performing store opening and closing procedures
Interviewing, training and coaching new team members
Maintaining communication with store management
Receiving, pricing and displaying of merchandise
Planning and directing team meetings

 

RECEIVING/LIGHT MAINTENANCE POSITIONS

Qualifications:

At least 18 years old
Basic math and computer skills 
Ability to perform manual labor including lifting, sweeping, mopping, snow shoveling
Dependable, self-motivated, detail oriented
Able to work quickly and efficiently
Able to work with minimal supervision
Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Able to stand/walk for long periods
Able to climb ladders and operate lift equipment
Available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a retail environment

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Unloading freight
Pricing and checking in merchandise
Organizing merchandise in stockroom within set guidelines
Delivering freight throughout building
Moving merchandise and shopping carts in and out of store
Carrying and loading merchandise in customers’ vehicles 
Cleaning public and private rest rooms
Sweeping and mopping floors
Emptying waste receptacles
Keeping building, sidewalks and parking lot clean
Snow shoveling
