Directions

  1. Start by spelling out 'BEACH' in the center of the white wall art slat board using the 4" vinyl letters. Make sure the letters are attached with a sealed edge so paint cannot bleed underneath the letters.
  2. Using a chalk paint brush and cascade chalk paint, paint the entire white wall art slat board. Be cautious when paint over vinyl letters to ensure paint does not soak underneath the letters. Allow time to dry.
  3. Once dry, peel off the vinyl letters and sand the white wall art slat board down using sand paper to your liking.
  4. Using E6000, attach the 4-5" sugar starfish to each side of the word 'BEACH'. Set aside and allow time to dry.
  5. Using a paint brush and Wicker White acrylic paint, paint each of the boat cleat hooks. Allow time to dry.
  6. Once dry, use a paint brush and Raw Umber acrylic paint to dry brush over the Wicker White on the boat cleat hooks. To dry brush lightly dip a dry paint brush into the Raw Umber and drag over the boat cleat hook very gently. Allow time to dry.
  7. Once dry, attach the boat cleat hooks to the wall art slat board by using E6000 first to reinforce the 1" screw that will be screwed into the board to hold the boat cleat hooks in place. For the placement of the boat cleat hooks, start by centering the first hook on the board. It might need to be a little off centered if the slat falls in the center of the wall art slat board. Then, attach the last two hooks by centering them between the first hook and the edge of the board.
  8. Once the boat cleat hooks are attached using both E6000 and 1" screws, wrap twine around the middle of the board between the hooks and 'BEACH' approximately 5 times tying a knot in the back.
