Materials

• Candlestick Base

• 2 colors Wool Felt (1/8 yd of one and 1/4 yd of the other)

• Wool Roving (for creating pattern on wool felt)

• Fiber Poly Fil

• Ribbon or Trim of choice (60 inches to gather or 27 inches if not)

• Embroidery Floss

• Thread

• E6000 Glue

• Large Doll Sewing Needle

• Decorative Pins

Directions

1. Cut two 6.5" circles from wool felt for bottom tier.

2. Gather ribbon and/or trim. Pin to the interior edge of one circle. Pin remaining circle over ribbon with right sides facing.

3. Sew 1/4" from the edge making certain to catch the edge of the ribbon or trim in the seam and leaving a large enough opening to flip circle right side out.

4. Turn right side out, stuff with poly fil and hand sew the opening closed.

5. Using the large sewing needle, pull the embroidery floss up from the bottom of the cushion and back around to the opposite side. Pull taunt to give a tufted appearance. Do this several time in equal sections for a decorative look. Tie end down.

6. Glue pillow to candle stick base with E6000, let dry.

7. Cut one 6.5" circle for second tier of pin cushion. Hand stitch around edges until you meet both ends of thread.

8. Pull end of thread to gather edges of circle, creating a pocket. Fill pocket with poly fill. Tie ends of threads together creating a felt ball.

9. If pattern is desired on felt ball, use wool roving to create a needle felting design.

10. Cut one 2.5" circle for third tier and repeat steps 7 through 9.

11. Flatten third tier felt ball slightly and sew or glue bead to top.

12. Sew or glue third tier to second tier, then glue or sew second tier to bottom.

13. Add decorative pins and enjoy!
