Project Sheet: cd324

Materials

• 3/8 yard Cuddle Fleece

• 3/8 yard Tear Away

• 1 set Velcro ¾ inch circles

• co-ordinating thread

• a darker shade of thread for vein detail on leaf

• sewing machine

• sharp scissors

• needle

• pins

Directions

Note: seams are stitched at ¼ inch

1. Enlarge pattern 133% - so it measures approximately 13" tall.

2. Cut 2 pieces of fleece on the fold, making sure you have nap of fabric going in the same direction.

3. Cut 1 piece of "Tear Away" on the fold

4. Pin "Tear Away" to the wrong side of one piece of Cuddle Fleece and using the darker thread, stitch "the veins" of the leaf using the zigzag stitch on your machine (you may want to practice on some scraps). The sample was completed using the zigzag setting at it’s widest and the stitches at their closest and going narrower to the point of each vein. Trim the "Tear Away" carefully from your stitches.

5. Pin or baste the front and back together and stitch around the leaf leaving a 4 inch opening on the bottom of the leaf.

6. Turn right side out and slip stitch the opening closed .

7. Lay the Baby Doll on the leaf and determine where you want to place the Velcro and sew the Velcro in place by hand.
