Pear Family Pillows
Project Sheet: cd367
Materials
• Pillow insert
• 2 tea towels (one for pillow casing, one for design)
• Thread
LETTERS:
• Fabric scrap
• Heat-n-Bond
• die-cut machine
- or -
• Iron on letters (for family pillow only)
Directions
1. Cut out pear and sew onto center of tea towel. For family, apply Heat-n-Bond to
scrap of fabric and cut letters out of die-cut machine and iron onto a rectangle cut
from desired tea towel. (Stitching each letter on is optional but makes it more durable
for washing.) Then sew to center of tea towel.
2. Cut the width of the tea towel to be 1 inch larger than the width of the pillow. Cut off
of each side to keep the design you created in the center.
3. Having your fabric right side up, fold it into the shape of your pillow, allowing an
overlap of fabric on the back side of your pillow. Pin the unfinished edges together.
4. Use a 1/2-inch seam to stitch these edges together.
5. Turn right side out and insert your pillow.
