Directions

  1. Lay burlap bag on newspaper or cardboard to spray paint.  Mark eight inches down from the top of the bag.  Paint the top eight inches black on both sides-try to spray just inside the top of the bag as well.
  2. Spray the bottom white; cover the top black section with newspaper to eliminate any over spray of white from getting onto the black.
  3. Stuff the bag with old grocery bags or an old comforter.
  4. Gather the top of the bag at the line between black and white.  Tie snugly with a piece of jute.
  5. Paint all wood circles Lamp Black.  Add a small white dot to the upper right of the two large wood circles to make eyes, let dry. See photo for reference.
  6. Using hot glue, adhere the two large circles for the eyes, making sure the white dots are in the same position, upper right and the six small circles positioned for the smile on the snowman’s face. Leave enough room for the heart (snowman's nose).
  7. Paint the red wood heart Burnt Orange, let dry.
  8. Adhere heart to the burlap bag for the nose, using glue gun. See photo for reference.
  9. Take the paint brush.  Put some Antique rose paint on the end.  Dab several times on scratch paper to eliminate excess paint, then in a circular motion, apply the paint to burlap bag, making the snowman’s cheeks.
  10. Take the towel and snip through all the hems of the towel.  Now grasp the towel in one hand and the hem in the other and tear the hem away from the towel.  Do this with all four hems until you have a raw edge on all four sides of the towel.
  11. Fold towel in half and snip at the halfway point.  Tear down center,  hot glue the two short edges together to create one long scarf.
  12. Take the greenery, bend the stem of the greenery into a hook shape and wrap around the top of the bag where the jute separates the white and black.  Now wrap the towel/scarf around to secure the greenery in place.  The towel is long; start in the front, wrap to the back and tie, and then wrap to the front and tie securely in place.   If the towel is too long for your preference, short the ends the same way as earlier, snip the edge and tear.
